On-site orbital machining of two shaft axes
Precision Orbital Grinding on Two Axes
As part of a mechanical maintenance operation, precision orbital grinding was carried out on two cylindrical shafts directly on-site. The goal of this procedure was to restore the functional geometry of the bearing surfaces, with a tight tolerance requirement of 0.02 mm.
Thanks to the use of high-precision orbital equipment, the surface condition was efficiently corrected without disassembling the equipment. This technique enabled work in a constrained environment while maintaining excellent control over final dimensions.
The operation resulted in a flawlessly machined surface, fully compliant with dimensional and mechanical specifications, thereby ensuring the rapid return to service of the machine.
This type of service demonstrates the ability of on-site machining to combine speed, precision, and reliability—serving the operational continuity of industrial installations.
