Comparative Inspection of Two Mechanical Assemblies

A metrology inspection was carried out on two mechanical assemblies, one original and one newly manufactured, with the goal of performing a comparative dimensional analysis. The purpose of this operation was to verify the geometric conformity of the new component in relation to the original part.

Measurements were conducted on-site using a laser tracker, with both global and local reference frames established. This approach enabled precise analysis of the overall structure of the parts, as well as the positioning of key connection elements such as flanges and tubes.

The analysis revealed some geometric differences between the two assemblies, particularly in the relative positioning of the flanges and the overall length of the unit. These variations were interpreted in the context of the expected tolerances and the functional fit within the assembly environment.

The overall inspection confirmed the geometric compatibility of the new assembly, ensuring its proper integration into the designated installation.
